Cooperation to stop the epidemic
Not only is Binh Phuoc province performing well in the prevention of African swine fever, but Binh Phuoc also takes the lead in re-herding pigs after the epidemic.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, before the epidemic occurred, the province's total pig herd was about 883,000 heads, but by this time it has increased to 1,323,000 heads.
Why so? Reporter NNVN newspaper had the opportunity to visit the model of pig farming in association with C.P Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Binh Phuoc branch of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam (living in Hamlet 5, Minh Hung Commune, Chon Thanh District). Currently, Mr. Dam's farm is the second largest in the locality with over 2,400 pigs. During the recent epidemic, his camp condition remained stable.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam excitedly imported pigs to prepare for raising new litters.
Mr. Dam said that in the past years, his family had many difficulties in raising pigs because of the small number, poorly built barns, environmental pollution, not to mention when pigs were infected. Therefore, Mr. Dam raised a few litters then stopped.
In 2015, seeing that people here get rich from raising pigs due to association with a business, generating stable income, from the introduction of acquaintances, Mr. Dam went to CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company to order the problem of linking pig farming.
“The company is very careful, they let people check the barn, check if the water is safe, and then sign the contract. The company provides the entire breed, feed and vaccinations for the pig herd. In particular, the output problem does not have to be worried because when the pig reaches the specified weight, the company will bring the car to pick it up, "said Mr. Dam.
C.P Company transports pigs, distributes pigs to each processing farm.
According to Mr. Dam, since the day of association with the pig farming business, the farm has never had an epidemic. In particular, during the recent African swine fever outbreak, in addition to strictly complying with the biosafety pig raising set by the company, he was also equipped with a net system to cover the entire farm against flies. Bugs spread pathogens.
Mr. Dam said that with the processing cost ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 VND/kg of pigs when released from the barn, after deducting costs, he pocketed 300-400 million VND/generation. “This cooperation is mutually beneficial to ultimately produce high-quality products. When cooperating, farmers both have the opportunity to access modern ways of production and feel secure in production," said Mr. Dam.
Dam's entire farm is equipped with fly nets to prevent African swine fever.
Mr. Le Dinh Cong, Director of CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Binh Phuoc branch, said that up to now, there have been 105 farms that have signed contracts for joint adoption and processing of pigs with the total herd. over 80,000 children.

Farm owners have the conditions to access and apply technical advances to production, create products of good quality, and improve investment efficiency.
