Prednisolone sodium phosphate
DESCRIPTION
- Prednisolone is widely used in the field of camel racing, as a pre-competitive anti-inflammation.
- Has a smoother glucocorticoid potency than dexamethasone, but a superior corticoid mineral potency.
INDICATIONS
- Relief of inflammation and clinical parameters associated with recurrent pathway obstruction.
- Respiratory in horses, in combination with environmental control.
METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
1º – 1 Shot :
- Horse pre-race and training:
5 ml to 7 ml 72 hours before the race, IV very slow.
- Camel pre-race and training:
4 ml to 6 ml 72 hours before the race, IV very slow.
2º – 3 Shots:
- Horse pre-race and training :
1st shot 5 ml 5 days before the race IV or IM
2nd shot 5 ml 4 days before the race IV or IM
3rd shot 4 ml 72 hours before the race, IV very slow
- Camel, pre- race and training:
1st shot 4 ml 5 days before the race IV or IM
2nd shot 4 ml 4 days before the race IV or IM
3rd shot 3 ml 72 hours before the race, IV very slow
